Woman dies after motorbike-car crash on A26 in Ringmer


A 48-year-old woman has died from an accident on the A26 at Ringmer.

Nutley’s wife, near Uckfield, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash involving a motorcyclist and two cars on Sunday afternoon (September 26).

Emergency services responded to the collision at Uckfield Road at around 3:45 p.m.

Following the accident, the road was closed in both directions while emergency services were on site to deal with the incident.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by reckless driving and has since been released under investigation pending further investigation.

A police spokesperson urged those with information to come forward and said: “Anyone who has witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage that could help respond to inquiries should send an email : [email protected] and cite Operation Anchor.

Sussex Police said the woman’s family and next of kin have been notified.
