Family FunFest returns to the Dutch village of Nelis with rides, cars and food

HOLLAND – The Family FunFest at Nelis’ Dutch Village is back and better than ever.

Each year, the event benefits the local non-profit Grant Me Hope mission to find adoptive homes for adoptive children before they age out of the system.

With a semi-truck, car and motorcycle show, plus food, rides and a petting zoo, there’s something for everyone.

The Semi Truck Show features trucks and trailers from all over West Michigan. Some old, some new, but all BIG! Visitors can also see cars and motorcycles of all makes and models, some a century old.

Registration for the Auto & Motorcycle Show begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, and the show runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Each vehicle costs $20 to register. Trophies are awarded for “Best in Show” and a variety of other categories.

Meanwhile, the nearby Nelis’ Dutch Village will be opening its doors for the cause. Several fun rides and activities, a petting zoo, beautiful flower beds and lots of Dutch history, exhibits, demonstrations and shows will all be available. There will also be food throughout the event.

Neils’ Dutch Village is located at 12350 James Street in Holland Township. The cost to attend Family FunFest is a goodwill donation.
