The holiday season is here and there are several new cars on offer from the manufacturers. We list the top 3 for you.

The automotive industry is recovering from the pandemic-induced slowdown and a global chip shortage. Just in time for the holiday season, manufacturers have lined up their latest models to woo customers and give the industry a boost. While we can’t cover all of the models coming out soon, let’s take a look at some that are the most exciting in their respective categories:

  1. Tata punch

Tata has already caused a stir with its next-generation vehicles – the Altroz, Nexon, Harrier and Safari – in their respective segments. Now it is entering the micro-SUV space with the 5-seater Punch, which prides itself on being one of the safest in its class. This newcomer has the same engine as the Altroz and Tiago with a turbocharged unit option. The Punch is packed with features like automatic climate control, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with steering-mounted controls.

  1. Volkswagen Taigun

It is Volkswagen’s first small SUV in India, and the automaker hopes to enter the most hotly contested segment. He faces the Seltos, Creta, Harrier, Duster and Kushaq. The Taigun is powered by a 1.0-liter TSI and 1.5-liter TSI petrol engine, producing 115 and 150 hp respectively. You get a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic in the latter specification. The interior is packed with features like a 10-inch infotainment screen, ventilated front seats, digital driver display, power sunroof and ambient lighting. The SUV also has a tire pressure monitoring system, ESC, grade control, six airbags and a rear parking distance control sensor.

  1. MG Astor

Yet another entry into the compact SUV segment, this is MG’s most affordable offering. This “smart” car comes with an AI-powered robot, steering feel modes, 10.1-inch infotainment screen, digital instrument display, heated ORVMs, and a Bluetooth-enabled dongle. The SUV also has a panoramic sunroof, air purifier, electric parking brake, automatic windshield wipers, front and rear armrests, and over 80 connected car features. It is also equipped with six airbags, an anti-lock braking system with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control and hill descent control. Astor’s engine options include a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated unit and a 1.4-liter turbo-gas unit.

Advanced driver assistance systems activate functions such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and intelligent headlight control. For the best experience, Astor has automatic emergency braking, lane departure prevention, rear-wheel drive assist and speed assist system.

Conclusion

Competition in the automotive industry is sure to intensify, and the ultimate benefactor will be the customer. This holiday season, take this as a guide to buying the car of your dreams. And don’t forget to buy auto insurance to protect you financially against any unfortunate incident.
