Biker killed in crash involving two cars

On Monday, February 7 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) patrol officers received a call about an accident on Bloekom Drive in Randpark Ridge.

CPF patrol officers were close to the area and managed to get to the scene within a minute of receiving the initial call.

They discovered that a motorcycle and two cars had been involved in the accident.

Emergency services were immediately called to rescue the motorcyclist who was lying on the side of the road in critical condition.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they could do nothing to save his life and he was pronounced dead.

There were no other injuries at the scene and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

“Our patrollers left the scene just before 10:00 p.m. Thanks to everyone who responded to help; our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased,” said Honeydew CPF PRO Michael Steyn.

Earlier the same day, two Honeydew CPF patrol officers discovered an accident at the corner of Golf Club Terrace and Constantia Drive.
