A freight truck driver learned the hard way that a motorcycle tunnel at Bira International Circuit is for bikes, not trucks.
The unidentified driver – who normally works as a mechanic at Pattaya Racecourse – volunteered to drive a truck full of equipment as the normal driver was away.
He however jumped behind the wheel without checking which road to take and did not know the tunnel. It wasn’t until he drove the 2.8 meter high truck through the 2.7 meter high tunnel that he realized his mistake.
A work team from the Sawangboriboon Thammasatan Pattaya Foundation attempted to cut the roof, but gave up after an hour. So they got a tractor and got the truck out where he had entered.
