A 24-year-old motorcyclist crushed under a truck in Zirakpur

The deceased was identified as Dharmendra Lal, a resident of Raipur Kalan in Chandigarh, and worked in Zirakpur. He was heading to Zirakpur on his motorbike for work. When he reached the bright spot in Singapore, a truck ran over him, killing him instantly.

A 24-year-old motorcyclist was crushed under the wheels of a truck at Singapura Lighthouse in Zirakpur on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Dharmendra Lal, a resident of Raipur Kalan in Chandigarh, and worked in Zirakpur.

Investigator (IO) Bhushan Kumar said that around 2 p.m. the victim was heading towards Zirakpur on his motorbike for some work. When he reached the bright spot in Singapore, a truck ran over him, killing him instantly.

The OI further said, “We have arrested Truck Driver Mahinder Singh, a resident of Shahbad in Ambala, and a case has been registered against him at Zirakpur Police Station.”

The victim was from Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh and had wandered off on a rental in Raipur Kalan in recent years. The body was released to family members after the autopsy.
