70 cars and 40 motorcycles to enter for this year’s Concours d’Elegance

Seventy cars and 40 motorcycles will be on display at this year’s motoring pageantry, Concour D’Elegance, scheduled for September 25e at Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi.

Among the cars that have been entered for this year’s event which will also be the 50e edition of the car and motorcycle contest includes a rare 1990 Lancia Delta Integrale.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, who graced the launch, felt the event was poised to attract outstanding attendance to match its billing.

“I have been informed that already 40 cars have been registered, four months from the competition, a clear indication that this year’s event will be bigger and better than previous years,” remarked CS.

“The event has gained international status and proof of that is the recognition Bob Dewar has received from Paris as well as the recognition by the International Motorcycling Federation,” Amina added.

“Event Director Bob Dewar has revealed that the rules for this year’s event remain unchanged.

In his capacity as Event Director, Bob Dewar reported that the rules for 2022 are

unchanged from previous years. Due to difficult economic conditions,

the organizers maintained the entry fee at the previous level. Again, judging will not take originality into consideration as the wide variety of cars and motorcycles makes this impossible. Officials will base their marking on the cleanliness, condition and readiness standards of participating cars and motorcycles,” read a statement from race organizers.

Cars will be judged on their originality, with scores awarded based on the cleanliness, condition and preparation standards of participating cars and motorcycles.
